I’m giving a Keynote, ‘Brave New Story Worlds’, as well as speaking on a panel, during this big teachers conference, AATE/ALEA, in Brisbane Australia, 4-7 July, 2013.
I’ll be on a panel on collaboration on Friday 7 June, The Literarcy Conference, 2013: Writing in a Digital Age. The two-day conference takes place at Free Word, London.
I’ll be on a panel at the London Book Fair on 17 April. ‘Gloves Off! How Are Writers, Editors and Readers Feeling About Digital?’ will do what it says on the box.
I’ll be giving one of the Keynotes at the Higher Education Academy workshop and seminar, at the Open University, Milton Keynes. Recreating English? Exploring creativity in language, literature and creative writing takes place on 15 March, 2013.
Due to the snow in January, my lunchtime talk at the Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol was postponed until Friday 1 March. The talk is free. I haven’t been to the Pervasive Media Studio before, so I’m really looking forward to this event. I’ll be talking about my ongoing digital project, ‘Inanimate Alice’.

The Writing Platform, in collaboration with The Literary Platform, invites published and self-published writers, publishers and others interested in finding out more about digital publishing to an informal networking day, designed to offer affordable, practical advice and take-away information, to be held at Rich Mix on Thursday 8th November from 11-5pm. The event is open to anyone looking to find out more about the digital publishing process, the pros and cons of using social media to reach readers, how to develop and nurture online reader audiences and learn more about some of the most innovative projects coming out.
I’m going to be speaking at Books In Browsers at the Internet Archive in San Francisco, 24-26 October, 2012. This conference takes place at the Internet Archive - *thrilling!* Can’t wait for this.
I’m hosting an evening at the Guardian to talk about ‘Reinventing Fiction’ in the digital age. Wed 12 Sept. My fellow writers will include Tim Wright and Tony White. £39. Book now!
