Here’s the video of my TedX talk.
I’m one of the speakers at TedX Bristol on 11 November. I’ll be talking about the project I did with Neil Bartlett, Letter to an Unknown Soldier, which seems like a good idea given 11 November is Remembrance Day.
Join us for an evening of discussion with key figures in the publishing industry, hosted by Creative Conversations, an initiative of the Department of Creative Professions and Digital Arts at the University of Greenwich.
Steve Carsey, Director of Original Programming for Audible, Katrina Hopewell, marketing consultant in broadcast and digital publishing, Kate Pullinger, award winning novelist and digital storyteller and Jeremy Thompson, MD of independent publisher, Troubadour and its self publishing arm, Matador, will be joining panel chair, Justine Solomons of Byte the Book, to give their views on the opportunities and challenges for writers, publishers and other industry players in the rapidly shifting landscape, which is contemporary publishing.

I’ll be giving a short talk as part of Trapped in the Ice, Frozen in Time, an event at the British Library on Thursday 5 Feb, 6:00, to celebrate Rob Sherman’s transmedia residency at the BL, with fellow writers J R Carpenter and Nancy Campbell.
I’ve been invited back to Canada for a second round of festivals, dates and links below. In addition to that, I will be in Banff where I will be given the Anne Green Award - such an honour and a pleasure (see Events).

In September I’m doing a series of readings and events at festivals in Eastern Canada, including Eden Mills, Halifax, Hudson Quebec, and Kingston (see Events).
Sunday 14 September I’ll be at the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival.
Sunday 21 September I’ll be at Halifax’s The Word on the Street.
Tuesday 23 September I’ll be in Hudson Quebec for a Storyfest ‘Meet the Author’ Event.
Thursday and Friday, 25 and 26 September I’ll be at the Kingston Ontario Writers Festival where I’m doing three events.

16 April, 2014 I’ll be reading with Danish writer Jonas Bengtsson and American writer Jennifer McMahon as part of IFOA’s weekly Reading Series.
8 April, 2014 At the London Book Fair this year I’ll be taking part in a panel discussion around international coypright law, writing, and the digital age, How Will Writers Eat?. This has grown up out of work I’ve been doing with The Literary Platform for Goldsmith’s University and CREATe. Come along and join the shouting.
